Can you hook up a printer to both a print server and a computer? How would you do so?

I am trying to take one printer, and hook it up to both a wireless print server and also a computer. You may ask, why not just use the print server to communicate between this particular computer and the printer. The reason is because this printer is an all in one, so my print server doesn’t support all those functions. I simply want the print function to work through the print server, and the all in one features to work with one computer.

I know of no way to connect the printer to both simultaneously. As an alternative you may just want to connect the All-In-One printer to your computer, and share it from there with the rest of the computers in your network. Setting up a shared printer isn’t that bad. Just follow the supplied link for suggestions. Of course this means that you have to leave the computer on all the time so others can use the printer whenever they want, but there’s going to be a trade off one way or another.

Why not? One is connected using ethernet and the other using parallel port (to your computer).

There are some printers available with more than one port and all the ports can be used simultaneously. By using these printers you can install the same printer with different computers through different port.
