How to transfer songs from ipod to new computer?

iTunes will not recognize my iPod (though I can see it on the Devices list, and can move files to it this way)

iPod, disk mode, and apple logo flashing?
Anytime I turn my iPod on, it flashes the Apple logo and turns off a few minutes later. I connect it to my computer, still just the Apple logo. I try to put it into disk mode, Center and Down, nothing happens.
Here’s the weird part. Five minutes after I pressed the Center and Down buttons, it goes into disk mode. Then my computer flashes a message saying “USB device not recognized.” Nothing shows up in iTunes.
I go to System > Device Manager and there’s no yellow ! next to the iPod device. I even uninstalled the device several times. Still nothing.
What’s wrong?
Reset many many many many many many times.

I need help with my Ipod 2nd generation, my OS is Windows XP SP2?
My iPod is a 2nd generation shuffle 1GB. This is the problem. One day, as I was doing my group report on my computer, I plugged a USB device of my classmate into my computer.
It asked something, sort of like ‘this needs to be installed so that you can use the USB device’. So I did. Afterwards, the USB device didn’t work.
Then, i plugged in the charging pod of my iPod, and a message came out saying: ‘USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED’. Under further detail, i saw that it said that no drivers were installed for the device.
btw, I have installed the latest version of iTunes. Anyway, at first it wouldn’t charge in my PC, so i charged it in my dad’s PC. For a while that worked. When i tried plugging it in my PC it said that my iPod needed to be reformatted. So i pressed yes.
All of a sudden the ‘USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED’ message came up again. Now it won’t charge in my dad’s PC either.ELP

Brand new iPod Touch 16GB not appearing in devices list of iTunes?
Not even the computer recognizes the iPod. the well known “Pling” - that comes when you plug in a USB device in the PC doesn’t sound.
I have tried it on 2 PC’s and neither works.
Anyone knows? I get this picture when i turn the iTouch on:

iPod usb not recognized in windows?
I tried resetting my computer and the ipod, and also I do have the latest version of iTunes (which shouldn’t matter bc you should still be able to charge the ipod without itunes opened)
also when i disconnect the usb from the comp i get the usual disconnect noise which makes me think it is recognized but it’s still not working properly b/c the drive isn’t showing up in My Computer.

And no, I can’t use my ipod because I have a 2nd G. Nano and I have Videos and TV shows I want to transfer.
