My old unbranded USB 2.0 256 Mb drive works fine but shows unsupported interface when tried for ready boost

My new Kingston data Traveller 4 GB failed to be even recognised while it worked on the old USB 1.1 ports there only( of course Ready boost attempts showed unsupported interface here too coz of USB 1.1 I assume

Help guys..i am all bugged I must have read at least 50 fora..but no avail

PS I AM ON WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE
I dont think we r playing the game’who gives the dumbest reply’ plzz

my usb hard drive is heating up my pc and how do i fix this?

i got an external usb 2.0 enclosure(250 gb). when i turn it on, few mins later my pc starts to beep and temperature raises like 10 C. whats not normal is, im not doing anything, no file transfer, no encoding no nothing!, when i check the task manager, it reads 3-5 % cpu usage. how do i fix this? also my motherboard is a msi nforce2 k7n2g on winXP sp2. More details, its not the fan, since it only happens when the usb device is turned on, and no its not the BIOs warning temp, cause i set it at maximum so it only beeps when it reaches maximum temp. which is true cause im using motherboard monitor(its a temperature software.)

Usb 1.1. and 2.0 question regarding laptop and PC?

I just bought a cheap laptop on Ebay so that i can use it for school. It mentioned that it had 2 USB 1.1 ports. My computer and my USB stick drive to transfer data are both 2.0 .

Would it work to transfer data between my computer to my laptop using the usb stick? I know 1.1 is slower, but i don’t mind as long as it will still work.

If it can’t work, is there anything i can do? Or should i look into getting another laptop with just usb 2.0 to make my life easier?

My usb 2.0 ports are being detected as usb 1.1s. I have service pack 2 and the drivers that came with the mobo

iPod firewire to usb adapter?

My father in law owns an old school click wheel ipod with a 6 pin firewire port. I am trying to find an adapter to go from his ipods 6 pin firewire port to a usb 2.0. I am not looking to install a new ide on his computer, I just need a straight A-B adapter.

I have acre- travelmate 2420 (laptop)! my problem is that laptop USB work properly when I use USB mouse, keyboard and printer but when I use pendrive, cardreader it’s not work properly and message sow (this USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a hi-speed USB 2.0 port, for a list of available , click here)
