iTunes will not recognize my iPod (though I can see it on the Devices list, and can move files to it this way)
December 7th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I have updated it via the web, and it can be recognized by the computer as a USB device. iTunes though will not recognize it so I can’t copy playlists or anything. Any suggestions?

Installing driver for USB device on Ubuntu 6.0?
October 19th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I have a USB wlan adapter for which I have found the appropriate driver. But how do I install the thing?
The instructions say to copy the provided files into the /lib/firmware folder, but I am told that I don’t have the right level of authorization. When I try to log in as the root user at the login page, it tells me that the root can’t log in from there.

I throw my problem at your feet and hope that someone, somewhere, knows the answer. I would like to thank them.

SanDisk Cruzer Mini 256MB Problem?
October 13th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I’m having trouble with my USB drive. The problem is when I put it in it asks me that “This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port”. I don’t know what that means, but after I do this I go to the My Computer folder & I see it says, “Removable Disk (G:)”. I double-click on it & the My Computer folder freezes & I can’t see it unless I remove the USB drive intentionally. I also downloaded the driver & tried installing it but after I thought it finished it said, “No USB Cruzer Mini/Micro driver is required for Windows 2000 or Windows XP”. Does anybody know what these problems are, because a year ago when I bought this I accidentally deleted something that I shouldn’t have deleted but I can’t remember what.

Toshiba USB ports Not Working?
October 8th, 2009 Posted by: admin
Ok, I have this huge headache. Recently ALL the USB ports stopped working on my toshiba satellite A105-S1712 (I get the “WINDOWS CANNOT HA). I don’t why. It was bought from display @ bestbuy. Anyway, my point is I’ve done and checked eveything. I scanned my system TWICE, I go to DEVICE MANAGER, it appears as an unknown device. I even re-formatted the laptop. It seems that the only choice I have left now is to buy a PCI USB card. Any help please? I would really appreciate it. Oh and by the way, it was bought about several years ago, so don’t tell me to try to get it to under warranty. Remember, it does detect USB items, it just doesn’t find the “drivers”. ie. If I connect a flash drive, it says USB mass storage found”, but then it says, “unknown USB device”.This happens with ANYTHING I connect (USB Game controller, camera,mp3 player, USB mouse…) on ALL USB PORTS. BIOS has USB turn ON.Laptop hasUSB 2.0 Ports. Has any ever sucessfully fixed this problem. Thanks
THANK YOU… THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!

I have a Belkin USB Wireless adapter but the computer doesn’t recognize it, or make a sound when i put it in?
September 30th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I’ve tried it on other computers and straight away Windows makes that familiar sound to acknowledge it’s found it and the add new hardware wizard comes up. The usb ports work because it detects my memory stick etc, just not the particular usb device?

Computer sound card problem?
September 14th, 2009 Posted by: admin
Hey, I recently installed a new installation of windows xp. Everything works well except my multimedia audio card. It says that there is no divers or this device. I want to get the drivers but I do not have internet. Also I do not know where the driver cd is. I do not know the name of my motherboard or multimedia audio card. I do have some things that might come in handy: another computer with internet, a trendnet router, a trendnet usb adapter and an external hard drive. I have tried to use the adapter but an error comes up and says that the usb device malfunctioned. The adapter has worked once before on this computer but now I have used it with other computers and the same error pops up.
So is there anyway I can fix this pc up without having to open up the computers case or search for the driver cd? If you know how to help please reply to this question. Thanks.

Computer booting from USB device?
September 12th, 2009 Posted by: admin
If i accidentally leave my USB device in the computer after i’ve shut the computer down, when i turn the computer back on, with the USB still in the computer, it will come up with a message that there is something in the disk drive; or something along those lines. Then it says to take whatever it is out, then press any key.
3 CommentsI just want to know if i can change a setting so that the USB can stay in my computer all the time.
Any help?
