My other computer doesn’t have a DVD Drive, so I’ve decided I can put the files on a bootable USB. Then I find out my bios doesn’t support USB boot, so pretty much I’m stuck but I don’t want to get a dvd drive. Is there a way I can install without booting? Like I remember my xp, I could just put the cd in and it would ask me if I want to install (while in windows). Thanks!
Ahh thanks! I shall try that:) Hope it works:D

well my problem isn’t about vista in general but i cannot restart my pc properly. I try to restart, it shuts down and come back up but it will stay on a dark navy black sort of screen for ever, i turn off the pc and then back on and its all good. I am sure it was when i activated vista home basic, because i chose to activate later, but i still had my usb in and when it was restarting it said the usual thing about leaving a usb in or whatever but, i then pressed any key and it continued and ever since i have had this problem. Can anyone please help? Should i re-activate or is it another problem.!?

When i try to install vista (in iso format) with my usb drive, my computer just says enter a bootable device. What is wrong? I thought it is bootable if its in FAT32 format and if my motherboard recognizes it?

On Vista you can boost cache by sticking in a USB flash drive and optimizing it, and now on XP there is a program called “eBoostr” which does the same thing. Question is, what benefit does it serve?

Hi,
I have a SpeedTouch USB modem which worked perfectly fine on XP
I recently purchased a new PC with VISTA and it no longer recognises my modem.
The SpeedTouch website gives a driver to download and i have followed their instructions. I get the 2 green lights
which means the modem is set up but VISTA tells me it cant locate the hardware
Has anyone had this issue and got it resolved without buying a new modem
If a new modem is the best solution which would u recommend?
Thanks!

My computer is brand new, so please don’t tell me that the ports are bad. It’s not responding to my camera or my printer. But it is to my USB adapter thingy…and my computer keeps humming loudly, not like before…
Err, can anyone help?

I have a 500 GB WD MyBook Essentials that I have used for a year or so on my PC that runs Windows XP. I recently had to move in with my dad, who has a laptop that runs on Vista. I am not setting up my computer due to the fact this is a temporary move. I have tried connecting my HD to his laptop because I want to use his computer to do the majority of my work, file downloads, etc., but it is not recognized. It’s not even being picked up as being connected to a USB port, and I have tried them all. I have searched for drivers for WD products to run on Vista, but no dice. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?
